Wednesday, The lads must be playing again

One game ends and another is just around the corner. Wednesday, FA Cup reply, bet the lads would be wanting a quieter time this week, after Saturday's hard game. The weather forecast looks better, no snow but cold. On Saturday as everyone was complaining about the snow, I looked out of my window and we had none, Cairngorms had none, Stoke supposedly lots (well that's what people were saying but pre game pics did not show it), very strange.

Saturday was a very strange day. Huth being turned into a good boy and has been grievously wronged. Meyler  is a cheat, faking injury after a wild tackle and trying to get a player sent off. Is this the same Huth who would make Vinnie look like a sainted choirboy? Remember Stoke fans, Meyler has just recently come back after a long time out with 2 serious knee injuries. A 3rd might just end his career, if not physically then maybe mentally.  He knew that Huth was going to hit him and so tried to avoid it but still Huth hit him and he went down with a thump. Brown went down last week with a thump and is now out for weeks. Meyler is a hard but fair player, not the type to feign injury or try to get another player sent off. It is not in his nature. If Pullis has a problem it should be with the ref not Meyler. Pullis won't criticise the ref as he would have the FA on his back. Put the blame on Meyler and who will sanction him, no one in authority. Because of his outburst, people who don't know David may think of him as a diver and a cheat, this is so unfair and so inaccurate. I would love to see the PFA stick up for David and make Pullis rescind  his unjust allegations.

Rant Over. Saturday was a good win but you can't read too much into it. The snow just ruled out good football. I do agree that in those conditions it was wise to leave Campbell out, to much of a risk of him slipping and twisting something or being kicked off the pitch. Too soon to risk it. With playing just Sess up front, O'Neil knew that there would not be many goals in those conditions and a draw was a good result. Some people will say when Bruce did that he was slated, why not O'Neil. True but I don't think MON would of done it against Brighton & this would of been part of a well thought out plan, Bruce never had well thought out plans.

Was it not strange that after half time Stokes, goal area was nicely cleared while ours was not? It backfired on them though and helped McClean stay on his feet, when I thought it impossible, and score. So thanks Stoke, nice one Tony. I also thought it good when in the 2nd half, at a throw in, the ball boy handed our player a towel to dry the ball. I wonder if he will be a ball boy again.

Tomorrow Middlesbrough, I want to beat them for two reasons. The first is simple they are Middlesbrough and we don't want them to get above their station. The second is also simple, a cup run I think would do us good. It will help confidence as well as keeping the winning streak going.

It seems as if there are no new injuries plus no returnees. That will mean one change, either Colback or Meyler being replaced with a forward. I think it will be Meyler on the bench as Colback has been MON's first choice over Meyler but it will be close call. Also I think Campbell will start. The lad is so high and full of confidence, Martin will be wanting to keep this going and the understanding going that Sess and Campbell seems to be getting. Martin does not seem to want to change a winning team.

I have to say that I did not like Richardson at LB but his performances recently have changed my mind. He has got so much better and I think Bridges will find it hard to unseat him. I can only see that happening if something happens to McClean. Then Richardson will move into that place with Bridges coming in at LB. That won't be tomorrow though as both of our new players are ineligible for the game.

So the team in my view will be as per Saturday except for Campbell in for Meyler and a definite win. They won't want extra time because of Arsenal on Saturday and too many games recently. Can't wait.

so                                  Let's Party with Marty
