After the storms

We have had quiet a week so far as weather is concerned. Winds for a few days of over 50mph. This is the main entrance to Wick Harbour. Thank good those winds are over but just been watching the weather forecast for the weekend and they might be returning, not as strong 40+ this time. Strange isn't how life up here sometimes mirrors life down there? No, not contrived, just realised it as I was writing this, honest gov.

We did expect a big storm after Saturday's game didn't we? What happened, we went and won. Could even say we played well. The weekend is on us and it is bound to be a 'noisy' game with Bent coming back but more of him later. If we lose will the storm cloud reappear again or will a win blow them away as happened last weekend. I don't want you to blow them up here please. Storms occur with great regularity without anyone's help. The first half against Bolton was dire but then the second half, we proved we could play football. Whether by accident or design Bruce seems to of found a formation, 4-3-1-2, which works. Wickham showed why we paid £8m for him, still a lot for an 18 year old but as the game went on he became more of a hand full for Bolton. This is something we have not had for a while. Their defence had someone they could not push around, who they had to worry about. With Bendtner & Sess prowling, and Colback & Larsson advancing from midfield, their defence were kept on their toes. Colback's run showed this when he split the defence and allowed Larsson to score.

I am sorry to say we were a much better team without Elmo & Catts. I hate criticising our players if they put an effort in and those 2 do. Larsson was more useful for his dead balls and general play on the right. Colback is tough and gives no quarter but is not as liable to be sent off. Also  he is a better attacking option. Let's hope that Bruce leaves the team as it is and hopefully they will become settled. I still think that the teams in our position get the best out of their players if the play the same team week in, week out. Yes the Man U's or City can have rotation but the quality of or squad is not the same.

Now getting back to Mr Money man Bent. Yes we all despise what he did to us. What would hurt him more, us shouting at him or us ignoring him, Bent who? I think ignoring him. This will also mean we can concentrate on what is important, getting behind the team. They will be nervous as the previous home games have been punctuated by boos. We don't want this. We want them relaxed, playing the football we saw in last weekend's second half. Bent is gone, we can't get him back even if we wanted him so forget him.

I see that Noz has gone to Watford until the New Year. I will always have a soft spot for Noz. Some of his play was superb but then he would do 'a Noz' and you would cringe at the stupidity of it. You got 110% out of him always and a smile. You have to love him. I wish him well, he is too good player and a person not to be playing. Go on Noz, show the Championship the skills we loved you for.

Remember on Saturday ignore Bent and cheer ya hearts out for the lads and cry

Ha'waaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
